There are many reasons why one would want to gain weight; for guys, being buffed up has been a goal for many. As for the ladies, some ladies feel best in a curvy body. All in all, you look beautiful the way you are; but it’s okay if you want to change the body you came in and that’s why I’m here, to show you how to gain weight in the most natural ways;

Here’s how to gain weight in five easy ways

  1. How to gain weight by consuming more protein

For obvious reasons, proteins are one of the healthiest ways of gaining some muscle. The tip here is to include protein-rich foods in your daily diet. Some of these foods include; lean meat (chicken, pork and fish), beans, eggs, nuts and yoghurts.

You are allowed to sneak in some chocolate too, however, be mindful of the amount of chocolate you take. It contains a lot of sugar which will largely affect your sugar intake.

  1. Change your eating habits

This is the oldest trick in the book, and perhaps the first option you should consider when looking for how to gain weight. Say you don’t eat a lot of food in one serving, that’s okay. Just take your usual small servings but try eating more often throughout your day. For a healthy system, you can afford to eat at least after every four hours.

Alternatively, you can have at least three large meals in a day and add snacks between each meal. I understand sometimes it gets hard to constantly chew, that’s why it would be easier if you “drank your calories”. Yes, this is possible; a glass of yoghurt, blended fruit juice etc.

  1. Exercise

Okay, I say this at the risk of you rolling your eyes at me; you can gain weight through exercising and lifting weights. It is true, working out helps one to burn calories. But one gains muscle weight, and at the right places while at it. If you are not big on exercising, it is advisable to get a trainer. Keep in mind that exercising will make you work up an appetite. So make it a habit to have a proper protein-based meal immediately after your work out session.

  1. Drink lots of water

I know it’s becoming a song by now, “drink water to get this and that, drink water to lose this or that”. But the truth if the matter is, our bodies are about seventy percent water, give or take. This means that you need it to alter most situations, like if you feel something is not right, it is highly likely that the amount of water in you is not right either. The trick here is to drink at least half a gallon of water every day.

  1. Get enough sleep

You must be wondering what sleep has to do with how to gain weight, but it has a lot to do with it. This is true for one simple reason; when you’re asleep, your body sustains energy. Get at least eight hours of sleep every day, to reduce unnecessary fatigue and loss of calories.
